In April of 2009, South Texas Swimming will host two LSC camps designed as a combination of education sessions, social opportunities, and water activities. Different levels will target key elements of development through which young swimmers are progressing. Swimmers are encouraged to apply for a camp if they meet the criteria; however swimmers may only apply to one of the two camps.

The cost of the camp includes camp t-shirt, cap, and lunch. D & J's is also donating prizes that will be raffled off during the camps. We are excited for the camps

  • US Olympian Neil Walker will attend the April 18 clinic!
  • There will also be an Officials Clinic held in conjunction with the central camp.

The following are goals of the camp that relate to the objective of motivating and educating the participating swimmers:

  • Provide an educational experience for each participating swimmer.
  • Improve swimmers self-image and confidence.
  • Promote LSC unity by camp participants.
  • Retain athletes in the sport of swimming.
  • Transfer information back to the swimmers home club.
  • Provide an opportunity for education, observation, communication, and motivation to the coaches.

Central Camp One - April 18, 2009

  • The application criteria is (3) STAGS qualifying times or (3) Senior Champs qualifying times from the 2008 short course season or 2009 long course season.
  • The camp location is the University of Incarnate Word, in San Antonio.
    • 12&U camp 9am-1pm
    • 13&O camp 9am - 2pm
  • The cost of the camp is $40.00 and includes lunch, cap, and camp t-shirt.
  • The first 75 applicants meeting the criteria will be selected to fill the camp.
  • The application deadline is Wednesday, April 1, 2009.

Central Camp Two - April 25, 2009

  • The application criteria is three (3) STAGS qualifying times or (3) Senior Champs qualifying timesfrom the 2008 short course season or 2009 long course season.
  • The camp location is the CCISD Natatorium, in Corpus Christi.
    • 12&U camp 9am-1pm
    • 13&O camp 9am - 2pm
  • The cost of the camp is $40.00 and includes lunch, cap, and camp t-shirt.
  • The first 75 applicants meeting the criteria will be selected to fill the camp.
  • The application deadline is Wednesday, April 6, 2009.
