Age Group Coach- San Antonio Wave
 

The San Antonio Wave is looking for enthusiastic age group coaches to work with multiple groups within our program.

Our practice facilities include: The University of Texas at San Antonio, Alamo Heights High School, and Smithson Valley High School.

The Wave has approximately 300 year-round athletes ranging in age and ability. The San Antonio Wave is a 501(c)(3) non-profit club and offers an excellent opportunity for advancement.

Preferred Qualifications/Attributes Include:

  • Previous competitive swim coaching experience
  • Strong technique background & teaching base
  • Comfortable working with swimmers of all ages and ability levels
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive and patient coaching style
  • Solid personal ethics - including honesty, respect and integrity
  • Must be energetic, a self-starter, and have a passion for swimming

Pay is commensurate with experience and is competitive for the South Texas LSC.

The club provides for meet compensation, travel reimbursement, professional certifications, and continuing education.

San Antonio Wave seeking Head Coach
 

The San Antonio Wave is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Coach to lead and build our year-round competitive swim team. The Wave is comprised of approximately 300 athletes, ranging from beginning level age-group swimmers to those who compete at State Championships, Sectionals, and Futures. The Wave currently trains at three different locations – the University of Texas at San Antonio, Alamo Heights High School and Smithson Valley High School. The Wave is a 501c3 non-profit organization with oversight provided by an elected parent volunteer Board of Directors that work in collaboration with the team’s Head Coach.

Preferred Qualifications/Attributes Include:

  • Current coach member in good standing with USA Swimming (background check, CPR, First Aid, Safety Training for Swim Coaches)
  • A minimum of 3 years of head coaching experience
  • Experience supervising & mentoring staff of 3 or more coaches
  • ASCA Level 3 or higher certification
  • Ability to provide consistent, positive motivation in a technique-oriented swim program
  • Professional and effective communication skills
  • Solid personal ethics – including honesty, respect and integrity
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Hy-Tek and Team Unify software
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities/Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day swim team operations (Wet-Side)
  • Hiring, management & mentoring coaching staff
  • Coaching and supervision of swim groups daily as needed
  • Development of schedule and staffing for practices & meets -
  • Regular & timely communication with swimmers, parents, coaches, board members, staff & pool landlords
  • Working directly with the Board of Directors re: annual budget, hosting meets, fundraising & other projects as needed
  • Attendance and leadership at swim meets
  • Attending and reporting key metrics at monthly Board meetings
  • Serving as team representative to South Texas Swimming and attending all necessary meetings
  • Development and oversight of dryland program
  • Fostering team unity and spirit among all training locations
  • Administration - tasks such as meet postings, communications, accounting & registration are supported by two part-time personnel

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Lifetime Fitness South Austin - Assistant Gold Coach Position Opening
 
Lifetime Swim Team is looking for an energetic, communicative, collaborative coach to helm our Gold level swim group.

As our team and culture expands, our leaders must expand as well; the Gold coach will be a beneficial part in all our swimmer’s growth and learning. We ask for candidates with the willingness to learn and grow in the profession of swim coaching and to fill in when the other assistant or head coach are away on leave.

The Gold coach will have the option to teach swim lessons and private lessons. Every Monday the Gold coach will meet with the head coach to discuss the week, pitch ideas, answer questions and generally help one another out to help build the team in a positive, forward direction.

The Gold coach must be available  to attend weekend swim meets as assigned by the head coach.

This position is for the coach that wants to learn, grow and collaborate to attain the skills to build a successful swim club and swim culture. Social media skills are a big plus when applying for the position, but not required.

LOST CREEK AQUATICS

Austin Texas (locations in Lake Travis, Cedar Park, Westlake, and Steiner Ranch)

Lost Creek Aquatics (www.lostcreekaquatics.com) is seeking an experienced swim coach to work with all age groups at our Westlake location. LCA has been a USA Swimming club since 2000 and has swimmers of all ages and abilities—from beginners to Junior Nationals qualifiers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current USA Swimming coach credentials or the ability to become certified within two weeks of hire
  • One year minimum competitive coaching experience with a USA Swimming member club
  • Competitive swimming experience as an athlete is preferred
  • Experience working with Team Unify is preferred
  • Ability to travel to swim meets within Texas
  • Passion for the sport and for working with swimmers of all ages and abilities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude

Hours are afternoons, Monday through Thursday, plus Saturday mornings. This position is 18-20 hours per week plus swim meets.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
