Important Swimsuit
Legislation: USA Swimming has adopted the following date change
to the FINA swimwear rules. New swimwear rules will go into effect October 1,
2009 rather than the FINA effective date of Jan 1, 2010.
Thus, effective October 1,
2009, swimsuits shall meet the following requirements:
(1) For male swimmers, the swimsuit shall not extend below the knees nor above
the navel
(2) For female swimmers, the swimsuit shall not cover the neck, extend past the
shoulders, nor past the knee.
