SWIMS offline tonight for updates, mobile app password, and SafeSport updates

Jessica Evans

Club Contacts & Head Coaches, please read the information below from USA Swimming. SWIMS will be offline for at least three hours tonight for updates related to security enhancements and reporting updates.

(From USA Swimming)

  1. The SWIMS release tonight will start at 6PM Mountain Time. This is a big release, and we are planning a 3-hour window. SWIMS will be unavailable during the release (however long it takes).
  2. The new login will go live after the release. Users logging into hub.usaswimming.org (SWIMS) will be prompted to change their password the first time. (Very easy process. Login, get a code in your email, enter the code, change the password.)
  3. VERY IMPORTANT – The password WILL NOT update the password for the mobile app at this time – If you are on deck this weekend, running meets, or see someone struggling to login to the USA Swimming app after they changed their password through hub.usaswimming.org, please tell them to try their ‘old’ password only for the app. The process for the app will change in the very near future, but not before this weekend so we can get through meets! This might be something to pass along to meet directors checking people in.
  4. We are aware that suddenly, the Freshdesk ticket system we use prompts a login. While we work with them on what changed, if someone comes to you for help and it needs to be redirected to us (APT, Education, Refunds) there is a “submit a ticket” button in the upper right after they click our help link that will get them through with no login.
  5. Last thing, here is an early notification of an upcoming Safe Sport update we received from the Center:

SafeSport Update:

Please be aware that the following courses will be updated Wednesday, March 25, 2026:

  • SafeSport? Trained Core
  • Refreshers 1, 2, and 3
  • SafeSport? for Volunteers
  • Understanding Mandatory Reporting
  • Creating Safe and Inclusive Environments for Athletes with Disabilities

Please advise people to complete in-progress courses by Tuesday, March 24th to avoid having progress reset and having to restart the course from the beginning. Please plan your training schedule accordingly.

All updated courses will include new content reflecting the 2026 SafeSport Code, simplified definitions of Code terms to improve learner understanding, as well as technical fixes to correct minor bugs. We also reviewed recommended resources and citations (and replaced as needed) in the Volunteers, Mandatory Reporting, and Athletes with Disabilities courses.
